"Blessing to the Dreamer"
by Martha Haehl ©1996
May your mannequins put on purple robes and dance in your parade.
May you beat the highest score at the local arcade.
May you be the one to decipher the charade.
May you always have love and never be afraid.
May your castle be honored by kings and queens,
Whether sculpted from ice or sand.
May your pipe dream be a kaleidoscope
And may your balloon never land.
May the snow transform your piles of junk to a Frank Lloyd Wright design.
May your flashlight beam with the Milky Way align.
May the face in the moon forever be a sign
That waiting for you is your favorite valentine.
May your castle be honored by kings and queens,
Whether sculpted from ice or sand.
May your pipe dream be a kaleidoscope
And may your balloon never land.
May your foes all be windmills and a sequoia be your friend,
Steadfast, undaunted by the wind.
And when you get your invitation, the final banquet to attend,
May your painted pony take you to your rainbow’s end.
